Memories of 2013

Yes, I'm back :) On the last day of 2013.. Well, I shall sum up memorable and thankful things that happened to me in 2013 :) I hope I can come up with 13 events/happenings.

This post will be full of my memories and thank you to people who have really taken care of me in 2013 :)

WARNING!!
IT'S GOING TO BE A LONG POST!

First,

Let's start from the beginning of the year :) My first trip to Sarawak and Brunei with my university friends. I seriously wonder why the trip will happen cause I'm wasn't that close to all 4 of them before the trip. But it all ended as well, where we bond and have girl's talk on our last day in Brunei :) We were also taken care well, especially by Valerie's mum who prepared many delicious food for us, heehee.

took a stroll at a park once we reach Miri :)

even went to the Miri's famous spot. :D
visited my favorite place - the beach :D

my favorite photo throughout the trip, although all of us had round faces. :P

after our girl's talk, on the last night :')

met xin yu's friends who are very friendly and we ate japanese food! :D

dolled up to enter a six star hotel just for photoshooting :P

even made carrot cake once we reach Brunei HAHA

Gotten so much closer after the trip, with all of them :) memories that will last forever, no joke. As there are too many epic and happening memories that happened in this trip :)

Second,

Probably be my experience in SVS for the period of  May 2012 to June 2013 :)

truly a memorable and warm experience working with the last batch of committees. Well, yeah I've been involved in club since Form 1, but probably because the BOC were usually really large and there are mostly small gangs in the committee board, hence it doesn't really feel like you're close with every committee.

But this is the first time I can say that I've probably speak a lot to almost all of the committee members :) Maybe because I was really new to the club and I didn't know anyone at all when I joined the club. But, in the end, everyone took really good care of me :) haha maybe because there is more guys in the board compared to girls. LOL

Besides that, I even had my first drinking experience with all of them. HAHA Went to my first high class restaurant to have buffet style dinner. Seriously epic.

The first person I spoke to in the committee was her, Lisa

She was the HOD - Wildlife. Friendly person, and hey, she's crazy over korean things, her kampung is Korea. HAHA jk. Favourite colour is purple LOL. Calls me Miss Mon. Hi, miss Lisa! :D Here's a few things:
Thank you for being so friendly to me during my first meeting with SVS. heehee at least I didn't feel that scared :x
Thank you for offering to fetch me home after SVS meetings :)
Thank you for inviting me to your graduation ceremony! :D I made it *proof*

Thank you for being so patient with me, hehe seriously I don't know how you manage to be optimistic over literally everything.
Thank you for always standing in the front when we're taking picture so that my face looks smaller :P
Thank you for being my friend in 2013. hehee our cafe stalking days have more to come right? :D
Thank you for spamming me photos of food and making me hungry in the middle of the night while y I was doing my assignment -.-

All the best in Crowe Horwath! :D Korea trip in 2015 :D and don't forget me!

Then we have the Mr President, Steven

Honestly, was scared of him at first though he jokes around with the others during the first meeting. He fools around but always make sure he gets things done. Well, because of him, I did take up several projects on my own when most of the committee's went for their internship. HAHA And no joke, he brought SVS to greater heights, giving Xue Wen (current pres) much pressure hehe. And yeah his joke -.- calling me fat everytime he sees me. Issshhh! And his epic expression when he sees his potential girlfriend! AHAHA

Anyway, am glad I get to work with you :) No doubt you're quite a good leader. All the best in KPMG! and yumcha soon HAHA

Next, the vice president, Jessryl Lee :) *purposely colour your name baby blue*

Where to start from?
I don't know how we gotten close but it's definitely during 2013. Perhaps we bonded through our first facebook chat, and somehow we got quite a number of similar topics.
I don't know how I trust you so fast by sharing some secrets with you. Perhaps it's your personality that gives me the assurance that I can trust you with simply anything.
I don't know when I've already include you as one of my closest person where I'd emo if I did not know what is happening to you. HAHA
Thank you for always looking out for me and taking care of me :)
Thank you for planning a birthday surprise for my 20th birthday :)
Thank you for always fetching me out and never complain about it cause we always end up going back to Pyramid which is just 1-2 minutes away from your accommodation.
Thank you for being there when I needed help for studies.

The other's I'll tell you in a more private column. Hopefully we'll still keep in touch since you've now graduate. Won't be able to see you in school anymore :( Taiwan trip perhaps?! :D

Then is my boss, the secretary, Gerald Tan :)

Errr, i just realized that I do not have any individual photo with him. *paiseh*
Anyway, I was kinda free as the assistant secretary as he only gave me work to do when I ask him to. LOL But he definitely is someone who is really efficient in the things he do :)

Thank you for taking care of me by not giving me much work to do. hehe

Up next is the treasurers, Loong Sang and Sheng Yik

Loong Sang - the Treasurer. The one who likes to kacau girls and is famously known as SVS Playboy! HAHAHA

Seriously got nothing to comment on you. HAHA jk.
Thank you for being so helpful as a senior and giving me tips on studies.
Thank you for being like the clown in the committee board, thus providing so much laughter during our meeting.
Thank you for arranging a consultation hour with your gang so I was able hear stories and their experiences about internship.
Thank you for kacau-ing me for the whole 2013. -.-

Your penguin origami I'll pass to you during your graduation la :) yumcha when free bah! haha faster settle down and find a girlfriend laaa. LOL

Sheng Yik the Assistant Treasurer.

Thanks for letting me tumpang your car back home after SVS meeting :)
Thanks for giving me advice on my scholarship applications and also sending me the sample letter in order to appeal.
Thanks for telling me your experience of having your internship in the banking industry.

I don't know which firm you're going to work at after you graduate, but all the best :)

Then, the Head of Department aka Johnny Bravo aka 007, Yon Jian.

the background of the picture is still creepy o.o

He is like the big brother of SVS. I'll always remember Parents for A Day 6 where you suddenly MIA in the beginning and I was left alone with the group. Which I end up lost in Zoo Negara cause the map is totally useless. But yeah, will remember the drinking session in Redang where you came up with the slogan, Steady Pom Pit Pit. lol

Then the two HOD - Community, Johnny and Kamal

Johnny, the current SUBS President.
Thanks for taking care of me during the SUBS Run For Gold, helping me to arrange transport when you needed me to come earlier :)
Stay sweet with your girlfriend ya :) and goodluck in your remaining ACCA papers :)

Kamal, the person whom I thought is Indian *sorry*
Thank you for waking me up to watch the sunrise during Redang Trip :D
Thank you for everything la haha, for being so caring lol

Then we have my two current partner in crime :D Xue Wen and Kim Yee :)

Xue Wen is the current SVS president. I seriously admire her ability to withstand all the stress she is facing where it's near her final year and the pressure of keeping SVS at the standard that Steven left. I just want to say:
Yes, we may not have been that close at the last batch of committee. I've only helped you once during the marathon which is during the Nike Run 2012. But this time, I'm your assistant :) We do have our arguments and we did shout at each other before, but i'm glad we always make up in the end. Perhaps we have our own way in dealing with stuff bah, but definitely working with you gives me a different experience. Get well soon and let's visit MIAR to see the fur kids again! :) 2014 will definitely be a better year for us :)

Kim Yee, the current treasurer. She's really a great treasurer as she ensures that the club's cash are used for a good reason and only on things that are necessary. Perhaps she may be the president of SVS next year? Who knows? But to me, she's like a younger sister to me, damn cute. HAHA

That's a damn long post about SVS. hehe too bad, they really did made my 2013 interesting, meaningful :)

Third,

Took over Steven's place and become the PIC for the Weekly Myanmar Refugee Kids Tuition Project. Kinda headache every week to think of the topics of the teaching materials every week, however I still enjoy doing it. The kids may make you mad a little when they did not remember what you have previously taught, but seriously you'll just melt when the younger ones come to you and give you non stop bear squeezing hugs. HAHA

Oh well, also many thanks to Vui Ting, Linchy and Samantha for helping me with the project. Samantha handling the art session whereas Vui Ting handle the other elder class and Linchy helping me to arrange the volunteers among the two younger class. Thank youuuuuu! :)

my students :)
my favorite kid. HAHA bias :P

Fourth,

First time going on a trip with my university gang - E7 :D It was simply epic to be honest. We went to the Lost World of Tambun, which is seriously not that worth it. But the accommodation was really clean, the hot spring was nice as well :) Many thanks to Weng Sum and Yvonne for sorting everything out for us :) The bus Weng Sum arrange for us even on their disco ball at night when we're otw to Ipoh town for Ipoh Chicken Rice and Tauge :)

We even dapaoed Salted Chicken back to the hotel and ate it while playing Monopoly Deal. lol my roomies are Evon and Yuan Ji. haha

Fifth,

The epic Redang Trip where I watch people get drunk. LOL and the chance for me to go to my favourite place, the sea :D Went there with a bunch of SVS-ians. As the trip from Selangor to Terengganu takes around 8 hours, our bus came at 9.30pm and we set off to the long long hour journey. HAHA

The first time I saw blue sand.
The first time I drink damn a lot of beer o.o
The first time I went snorkelling in 2013 :D
The first time I went More More Tea Inn.
The first time I watch a sunrise :D
The first time I rent an underwater camera. Next time I'll be more clever by asking the abang there to help us capture more underwater shots. LOL

my roomies.

just me and ma sea :D

Sunrise :D I went into the water just to capture this HAHA

Sixth,

I can proudly say that I'm a blood donor! :D Went for my first blood donation this year! HAPPPIEE!! Wanted to register as a blood donor for a long time but the timing is usually not right. Many thanks to Fion who accompany me during the blood donation process. HEHEHE and wtheck, the nurse complained that I've not been doing much housework cause my veins are very small, so the blood comes out very slow. How slow? My blood bag was only full after three person finished donating their blood. LOL Anyway, looking forward for the second time :D

Seventh,

Got subsidized by SSD to attend the TedxYouth KL. It is seriously one of the best talk I've attended. Their timing was great, they did not delay or anything, everything was right at the dot. :) The arrangement of speakers were also simply great :)

Met a lot of speakers who are really inspiring :)

She has a research centre where they research on whales and dolphins in Langkawi :D

Life of Pi. :) Azim Hulaimi.

Christian Palencia, very very nice voice and he perform's barefoot! :D

Eighth,

I participated in a session where YMCA KL will be hosting a number of youths from YMCA Hong Kong who came to Malaysia for ecoteer programme. They hosted two batch and I was happy to be able to participate in both session. Somehow I bonded more with the first batch of youths as probably most of them are about the same age as me. hehe. We had discussion regarding Malaysia's environment and we took them sightseeing in KL and also accompanied them to shop for souveniers at Mid Valley before they rushed to the airport :)

It was the day I sat the most public transport. We even experience a failed attempt to go to the Connaught Pasar Malam. HAHA and because of this programme, I got to know amazing people like Hui Lei, Kee Ming, Lychee, Yong Wei, Khai Meng :)

the four durian lovers. HAHA

Ninth,

And not forgetting my first trip to Pulau Ketam. Accompanied by my monyet buddy, Fennie, we went to Klang for Bak Kut Teh first with Kee Ming, Yxin, Hui Lei and another two guys. :x Then we went to Pulau Ketam.

As I'm the only one who cannot cycle, Kee Ming had to fetch me at the back of his bicycle, haha paisehh! We had fried ice cream, 'lala pancake'. awesomeee :D

the girls :)

fried ice cream! :D

the guys playing something from their childhood HAHA

sitting ktm like a boss cause the ktm is very very empty.

Tenth,

I had my first visit to an animal shelter. I went to Kajang's MIAR shelter, which stands for Malaysian Independent Animal Rescue. Not going to elaborate further, can just refer back to my older post, here goes the link: http://monsteryun.blogspot.com/2013/09/first-visit-to-animal-shelter-miar.html

Looking forward to visit the animal shelter again :)

Eleventh,

2013年8月17日 《天地人和 - 系列二 梦寻》

Since 2010, I have not touch my erhu, then I got to know that many of my batchmates will be going back to perform for a concert with the seniors. Hence, I made up my mind and decide to join the concert. Practice may be tiring but it's also fun as the process was interesting ;) Below are pictures from the practices and concert day.

I admit I did not give it my best during the concert as somehow I did not have much confidence on that day. And probably because I did not practice much :'( Lesson learnt.

my lovely zhonghu session :)

Twelve,

YES! I'm a legal driver who has only drove 5 times since she got her P license till now. HAHAHA! btw, the new license is really pretty, and it's a card instead of a laminated piece of paper. LOL

Thirteenth,

I got two 20th birthday surprise, one failed and one succeeded. One from my current batch of committees and one from my coursemates :) . NAWWWW~ and also gotten a nicely done birthday album full of wishes :)
